San Juan Capistrano Wedding Photographer
Mission San Juan Capistrano is one of my favorite places – the colors and textures throughout this historical property cannot be replicated! There are so many beautiful spots for portraits and I was thrilled to host a 1:1 mentoring session here earlier this month. The goal of the mentoring session was to shoot in different types of light, including open shade, mixed light and full sun well before sunset. I hear from many of my mentoring students that shooting in full sun is their biggest technical challenge, so I always try to include harsh lighting situations. The last two images in this blog post were shot in full sun about three hours before sunset and they were probably some of my favorites from the shoot. Whether shooting with film or digital, how you expose and how you position yourself in relation to the sun are so important!
