Anniversary sessions are so special to me and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite types of sessions. Wedding days can be so hectic and rushed, and the time available to spend one-on-one with your new spouse is so limited. And then after the wedding, it is really easy to do a family session once a year and call it good, but I’m a firm believer that everyone needs photographs celebrating their love – no matter how many years they’ve been married.

Sean and Quinn’s anniversary session took place at Mission San Juan Capistrano in Southern California, an absolutely gorgeous and historical location with so many beautiful spots for portraits. A romantic bouquet from Bellatula Floral and marriage poem written by In Loft Calligraphy helped bring the vision to life. Quinn’s dress from Jenny Yoo was a total showstopper – I just love how light and delicate it appears on film. And of course I was thrilled to have this anniversary session featured on Style Me Pretty!

The only time Sean and I did a photoshoot of just us was for our wedding. Our lives has been a whirlwind of events since, from moving to different cities, to buying our first home and having our precious daughter, Colette. So many changes and life has been moving along so quickly that we sometimes forget to slow down, reflect and celebrate our love.

As our third anniversary approaches, we wanted to do something memorable and capture this special moment in our marriage through an anniversary session. Our love has grown deeper and stronger after the birth of our daughter and we feel so grateful for this beautiful life we get to share together. Being photographed and sharing tender moments on the day of the shoot felt so nostalgic of our wedding day. These photos will be treasured forever and were the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary this year.
